2020 Terlato Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills
Hailing from one of the best regions in California to grow Pinot Noir — Sta. Rita Hills — these grapes were shipped in a refrigerated truck to keep the clusters cool before processing. 30% whole clusters were used in fermentation. Post-fermentation, the wine was barreled “dirty” for malolactic fermentation and the lees were stirred to build mouthfeel. The wine was aged on the lees until it was racked to blend for bottling.
AROMA: Floral, cherry, and plum with earthy notes punctuated by a spiciness from the whole cluster fermentations.
FLAVOR: Red fruits, earthy and spicy notes come through in the flavor with a juicy entrance, medium volume, great balance, silky tannins, and long finish. Sunshine in a glass.
