The Terlato Family
The Terlato name is synonymous with quality. This regard was built through more than 70 years of shaping the luxury wine business in the United States.
Importers, marketers and producers of some of the world’s finest wines, the Terlato’s are a four generation American wine dynasty. Anthony Terlato the patriarch of the family will always be fondly known as the Father of Pinot Grigio for introducing the varietal to Americans in 1979.
Anthony’s sons Bill and John currently run Terlato Wines and grandchildren Anthony Jr. and Elise hold sales and marketing positions within the family business.
When the Terlato’s became vintners in 1996 with the purchase of Rutherford Hill, their aim was excellence within the class of wines produced at their four wineries in California which now include Rutherford Hill, Chimney Rock, Sanford, and Terlato Family Vineyards.
