Rutherford Hill Rose

WINEMAKER NOTES:
Our Rose is always a fun treat to make. We start with saignee – juice drained off the skins immediately after destemming red grapes for red winemaking. The juice is then chilled and fermented like a white wine to preserve aromatics. The short contact time allows some of the color and aromas to come from the red grapes – such as strawberry and floral notes. We then do a partial secondary malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity. We are left with beautiful red aromatics and a nice full-bodied mouthfeel.
AROMA: Watermelon rind, dried strawberries, guava with hint of honeysuckle.
FLAVORS: Juicy with bright acidity and flavors of strawberry, plum, with a lime zest finish .
