Petit Verdot is a relative newcomer to our wine offerings. We made our first vintage of this Napa Valley rarity in 2001. The addition to our portfolio has been brief, but the impact significant. This high-quality red-wine grape hails from the Bordeaux region, as do Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Although Petit Verdot is valued as a blending grape, we find that is makes a tasty, dense wine all on its own. The 2006 Petit Verdot is generously fruity and rich with a smoky, floral-toned nose. A touch of Cabernet Sauvignon was blended to the Petit Verdot for added depth and texture.
