We have much respect for and experience with Napa Valley Chardonnay. In fact, Chardonnay has been produced at Rutherford Hill since the winery’s founding. Our lengthy heritage of producing fine Napa Valley Chardonnay is reinforced by this 2008 vintage.
There is a pleasant tension between the wine’s ripe fruit flavors and its zippy acidity. The nose is delicate with subtle tones of pears, and orange blossom expressed in tandem with underlying toasty oak notes. Our 2008 Chardonnay is charming wine to enjoy with our without food. Vineyards in Napa Valley’s cooler southern end are the key to this wine’s exquisite execution. All our winemaking and viticultural practices are aimed at enhancing Chardonnay’s natural charm and stylishness. The utilization of whole-cluster pressing, barrel fermentation and sur lie aging are critical to creating this crowd-pleasing wine.
